PURPOSE AND HISTORY

Since 1971, our nonprofit association has represented the finest garment-contracting businesses of Southern California. Our purpose has always been to provide education in promoting the highest quality of workmanship and business practices to contribute to the viability of our domestic garment and sewn products manufacturing industry, as well as to enhance its reputation. It is also our aim to promote our members' capabilities to their customers and potential customers.

Because there is strength in numbers, the Association's membership has a strong voice in activities affecting our industry. We are dedicated to advancing and protecting the welfare and rights of our members.

The Association has a paid executive director, Joseph (Joe) Rodriguez, who has been on board since 1989. We maintain an office in the California Market Center. GCA is affiliated with other organizations such as Apparel Contractors Alliance of California, and the Employers Group in order to help promote the best interests of our members and increase the benefits which membership can provide.

We are proud to invite you to join Southern California's most visible and influential group of professional garment contractors and be a part of our efforts on behalf of our members and our industry. Contractors, as well as all other apparel industry firms and suppliers of goods and services, are welcome to join.
